Oh NO! Not another discussion about which oil to use in the Rover V8...

Yup. Sorry. At least I've got a very specific question though...

I've been a fan of Mobil 1 since I first tried it in an old 74 Torino
with the 302 V8 (anyone remember Starsky and Hutch's car? My Torino
was blue). I also know guys in the oil business (my day job involves
putting sound waves into rocks for various purposes) who have a HUGE
amount of respect for Mobil 1. However, that's not why I'm writing.

Those of you who have replaced your clock with an oil pressure
gauge? I have a question. Any difference in running different
weight oils? I'm currently running Mobil 1 10W30 (replaced the
15W-50 Mobil 1 that was in there) and am curious if there's any
difference in oil pressure? Or doesn't it work that way and I've
asked a dumb question? I recall a passage in David Hardcastle's book
that says NOT to use lighter weight oils in the Rover V8 for some
reason but can't find it now nor do I remember the reason.

Opinions? Observations?

Please note that I'm posting to both the tr7tr8 list and the buick-
rover-v8 list for those of you on both...

Jim
