I've had 6 Rover V8s in various stages of tune and tiredness. The max
pressure I have ever seen at idle when hot is 20psi and even that drops
to 16psi if the oil is really hot (it's a 4.2 with nearly all new components
used for racing). The lowest I saw was around 10psi on a fairly tired 3.5.
Most of them seemed to idle at around 15psi when hot. All of them made
30-40psi at cruise except one that had a Kenne Belle high pressure kit
fitted. That made about 60psi at cruise. It blew the rubber seal out of
oil filter once when cold and I removed the kit.
