Lotus Elite question

I saw this car for sale on-line.

It looks kinda neat, except the hatch looks a bit like an old Ford Pinto,
and I wondered what you Lotus people think of the Elite.

It sounds like a good deal for $6K, but not if the model is a dog.

Any comments on a '74 Lotus Elite?
