Hello everyone, I am extremely pleased that my car is finally running. I
think I narrowed down why it was idling so high. It seems the previous
owner had plugged a lot of vacuum pipes...well the deceleration by-pass
valve has a vacuum pipe that was plugged, as soon as I took it off the rpm
dropped to right around 900 rpm and sounded great! However, in the interest
of not just *leaving things be*, where does this pipe connect to? I'm also
missing the spring that seems to go in the diagphram...Since this car is a
67, and only has to meet the smog requirements for that year, would people
recommend that I try and find another carb, or even go dual? There just
seem to be so many plugged pipes, either on the carb, manifold(intake and
exhaust)...is there a more simple carb set up that would mate to the 1500
engine? I'd love to have a set of SU's, but they seem to go for around
250-300$, and that's not in my budget at the moment. Anyways, any and all
ideas extremely appreciated. Thomas
