Thanks Greg, Rick and other nice SOLers, for the hints about the 
sometimes unreliable behavior of my starter!
They were basically all saying: clean/replace the connections or cables 
from the battery to the starter and related ones.
I added a new point on the popular "never ending list of things to do around 
the lbc".
