Here are (I'm sure you're all hoping) my last words on this subject. I
really don't think Volvos are unreliable pieces of cr*p as some of you
seem to think. I mean lets face it, with hopelessly shot old British
sports cars as a reference point, it's gotta be mostly up from there.
What I mainly dislike about current Volvos has been well documented by
those of you defending them. They're booooooooring! They
even look booooooooring. I have a lengthy list of cars I find boring as
I suspect many of you do. I own a couple of the cars on my on
list. Being boring is not necessarily bad. In fact if all you want is
car that reliably gets you from here to there on a daily bases,
boring is GOOD! That's why I own two of them; three if you count the
Astro mini van. BTW, while my other cars are boring looking in their on
ways, I think they are less boring looking then the current crop of
Volvos. Keep in mind this is my personal opinion; I don't insist that
anyone agree with it. Additionally my boring cars were far less
expensive. And Jennifer, I DO like older Volvos. They're even
interesting to look at.

I feel compelled to add that Volvos (which are damn safe and well
engineered cars, I'm sure) are not at the top of my boring cars list.
That spot is reserved for my all time pick of most boring car ever
produced: Buick. A Buick is one car I would definitely never own. I
can't remember a time when I didn't dislike Buicks. I know, that's a
double negative.

Volvos aren't even second on my list; not even close. What would really
have made my day is if instead of a stranded Volvo it had been a
stranded Turbo Porsche with its tacky oil cooler/wing thingie still
deployed. Now I'm REALLY in for it.

Roland

P.S. I don't use smileys. Smileys are on a separate list of hated
      things way above Buicks.

P.S.S Back to British cars next time.
