Misc MG questions revisited

Thanks for all the responses to my questions.  I have the following
clarifications:
 
Yes, I know there should be two SU HS4s on this car, but there is a single
HIF?? (haven't measured the size).  We found that the choke was stuck open,
which explained the black plugs, but after freeing it the Gunson Colortune
