Actually this is not as far-fetched as you might think. When Delco
Electronics was developing the Corvette's electronic management
system back in the early '80's, they programmed a backup failure
mode into the computer (a procedure copied widely now) and semi-
seriously listed three possible Corvette operating conditions:
1) Drive Home 2) Limp Home 3) Walk Home
