Fresh-air in an XJ6 (III)

One of the things that annoys me about my series III XJ6 is that it has
NO fresh air vents :-( The series I and II have them but for some strange
reason they have decided to remove them from the series three...prabably
because it has air-conditioning.

Now examining the fire-wall there are holes, filled with rubber plugs.
it appears all I have to do is find a wrecked series II and install the
hardware into the III.

Anyone done this? or seen someone do it?

I'd rather use air-vents than my air-conditioner or have the windows down
if I can. Keeps the noise of the traffic out and improves what little
fuel economy I have :-) Note, before anyone freaks, I do run my air-con
for at least 10 minutes a week and will use it when the weather gets hot...
it's just that at the moment you need it on almost all the time unless it's
real cold outside...rare in Australia :-)

Regards Scott # 2.
