Nice trick, but only if you have spin-on oil filters. And the Jag would most
likely not have this. I don't think driving an awl through the filter case
would be appetising to most older LBC owners because of this!
**** But I could really see adding an oil drain hole to the cannister.
Suppose you brazed on a block of metal near the cannister bottom, right where
it starts to curve in towards the bolt. Then you drill and tap the hole for a
drain plug. No more oil coursing over your arm while you turn that
intermitably long 9/16" bolt through the middle!
