Yes, several people have mentioned this stuff. Sounds like just the
ticket. I wonder if this is the same stuff covering the exhaust headers
on the Viper I saw at the Shelby Club meeting a few weeks back.
Not only is the transmission on the snake right next to my legs, the
footwells go around the bellhousing; there's a big bulge. To top thinks
off, sections of the exhaust headers and the mufflers are under the
seats. The exhausts come out the sides in front of the rear wheels. I
tried glass insulation a few years ago but the stuff just gets saturated
with water, oil and road muck and doesn't do much good.

The scuttle vents (one on each side) are located ahead of the radiator
(but not in front of it) just inside the grill opening. I've been
thinking along these lines too. Right now there are very small flaps
that act as scoops.
