I believe this pin is held in place by a little
crinkly, springy piece of sheet metal that wraps around it
and jams it in place to the release lever. This thingie
looks like a little metal Ruffles potato chip about
3/4" square wrapped into a cylinder.
I have seen these listed, maybe not from TRF, but definitely
somewhere else (possibly Rimmer Bros in England).
