Chris writes about TK-7:

[that's $0.70/oz]

I picked up a couple of bottles of Redline Lead Substutitue from
one of the locals who had a couple of cases along at the Glen.
It cost me $8 for a 12oz bottle, which treats 120 galons. [ $0.66/oz]
(That works out to 1/10 oz/gal, or 6.66 cents/gal).
I don't have any spec sheets on it, but it may be similar- The bottle
mentions lubrication, cleaning, and other properties. I immediatly
put some in the 74 B-GT, which I have just transplanted my ~66
18GB engine into, and had noticed the beginings of some pinging,
with Sunoco 94 Octane. (I've run this engine for 10 years on
unleaded *Regular*. The timing may be a bit advanced, but hey!)
It's to early for any real results, but things do seem to have quieted
down, after just the 38 miles back from Watkins last night.

I figure redline won't steer us wrong, will they? And it's a lot
cheaper than what they sell at the Auto parts stores. With several
engines which have valve seats ground directly in the Iron heads,
I'm up for whatever measures are available to keep recession to a
minimum. I can build heads for the B's, and Sprite with hardened
seats, guides, and valves, But the 34 PA, and my 39 Ford tractor
are another story. At least I don't have to worry about high RPM's
on the tractor.
