Well, I took all day but I got the A-arm and kingpin, etc. replaced in my
Midget this weekend. Just as well that I had the new kingpin, that old
one really didn't look like it wanted to come out...ever - thanks for the
advice folks! Anyway, my question is the following: The new kingpin does not
have a castleted
(sp?) nut on the top (at the shock link) but rather uses a nut with a plastic
lock ring (you know the type - nylock or some such). How tight should this
thing be? I don't want it coming off but at the moment my steering is a
little tight so that doesn't seem right either.

By the way, the elongation problem just seems to be inherent in the design.
The threads are the pivot between the kingpin and A-arm so sooner or later
this is going to wear.

you can email replies if you want. Thanks
