On my way home for lunch today my MGB was running rough, losing power
above 3000 rpm. Got home and found that the air cleaner cover had come
loose. After putting this back together I took it for a ride and it was
as if I had put in a new engine. WHY???? I could see having those
problems if I had a vaccuum leak, or a problem with the points, but a loose
air cover?

Now, when I returned to work I hit a bump and broke my exhaust. Since I do
not like the carburator on my MGB (circa '75) I thought that this was a
good excuse to replace exhaust and carburator (like a Weber). Does anyone
know of any used Webers laying around in good condition? I would really
like to not drop 350 on a carburator if I don't have too.

By the way, I now have a name for my MGB. Since my wife keeps on me about
how I spend more time with my car than with my 18 month old daughter, I
have decided to name it Alicia II, after my daughter.
