Dennis,

Give Craig Welk a call (435.723.3237). Craig is the one that talked me into
going Weber. He guided me to the internet where we got the carb setup with
manifolds for under $300. We did a bunch of work on my 76 and it is running
great. Took it on a 150 mile run today and it was flawless.

Craig works mainly on the MGB's but I would recommend him for anything. I
have known him for about 20 years. He worked with me at Thiokol and was
responsible for keeping the large transporters (the ones that moved the
Space Shuttle Motors) running. He is now retired and only does small car
jobs for friends.

By the way, the run to Bear Lake sounds like fun. Would love to drive up
over Monty Cristo. It is a grate drive but I am going to be spending some
time with my son on that day. Bummer!!!

Brownie and any one else,

I am intrigued by your comments regarding the Weber carb system on your MGB.
Is it one carb, or if two are they side drafts or down drafts? I am looking
for dual Weber down drafts for my TR7. I can go the retail places like Moss
and Victoria, etc. but then I'm looking at about $1200 plus. I have found
new down draft Weber carbs for about $500 or less but then I need linkage,
and instructions how to get them set up, etc. If any one has some
suggestions and if any one would like to get paid to help me find the Carbs
and install them I'm open to any recommendations.

By the way, when, what time and where is the Austin Healey and Jag event at
Park City this week end?

Best...

Subject: Re: [Bmcu] Back on the road again....

Just had to drop everyone a note and say that I now have both my British
cars back on the road.

The 1936 Hudson Stratton Sport Saloon has just finished a frame-up
restoration just in time to take it to the Hudson International Meet in
Oklahoma City last week where it was selected People's Choice over the two
hundred or so cars that were in attendance. That was a real thrill.

While I was back in Oklahoma, my 1976 MG was with club member Craig Welk,
Brigham for some much needed updates. Craig helped me switched over to the
new Webber Carb system, removed all the pollution control devices, rebuilt
the front end and finished up with new muffler (glass pack) and a stinger to
give it that truly British sound. Just took it out for my first drive and I
cannot believe what a difference these changes made. It is good to be back
on the road again...

See you all in the fast lane.

Brownie
