We will be meeting at the North-East parking lot of the state
capitol on May 13, at 9:00 AM. This is the same parking lot we meet at last
year. We'll be driving up Hwy 89 until we arrive at Kaysville. Then we'll
switch to Main street up to Antelope Drive in Layton.
At this point we'll meet up with the Northern members in the
K-Mart parking lot at the corner of Main Street and Antelope
Drive in Layton. We'll leave K-Mart at about 10 AM. We'll take
Antelope Drive all the way to the island.
Plan on bringing a picnic lunch and $6 bucks. There is a $2
toll for the road to the island and a $4 entrance fee to the
park. Food is availible at the park, but service is slow and
the food isn't really worth the wait. The park does allow alcohol on the
grounds
if you wish to bring it along.
After eating lunch and exploring the new roads that opened on
the island this year we'll be heading northward again. We plan
on making a stop at the Hill Airforce Base Aerospace museum.
Entrance to the museum is free. They have an impressive display of airplanes
and missles from WW-II to present.
