Last years' announcement regarding the advanced school is still on the SFR
Website. It was announced here on the list by Matthew Rehrer on 8/6/04. See

persons, and philosophy of selection are outlined. There weren't
"invitations" but as I understood there is a screening process.
The past few years, the novice school gets announced here (on this list)
first. Then a notice appears on the main SFR Solo2 page. It fills up within
a few days, so check back early and often. Make sure that you reload the
whole page, that the browser does not just show you what's in the cache that
you saw yesterday. Have checkbook in hand and a stamped envelope ready to
fill in, then sprint to the nearest post office with the next pickup time.
