FREE SNEAK PREVIEW OF 2004 RACE SEASON SET FOR APRIL 5
Free Admission, Race Cars on Track, Live Music & Fan Laps
MONTEREY, Calif. - True race fans should mark April 5th on their calendar
and come out to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for a free Sneak Preview of the
track's 2004 racing season.
The free Sneak Preview will feature several different types of race cars on
track and on display in the Paddock, as well as driver autograph sessions,
garage and suite tours and special Sneak Preview-only discounts on
souvenirs
and race tickets. Plus, fans can register on site to win pace car rides
that
day.
Special arrangements have also been made for fans to drive the famous
2.238-mile, 11-turn road course. Fans purchasing tickets on site can drive
a lap of the track for free from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., while everyone will
be able to take a lap during that time for the modest sum of $10.00.
Proceeds from the Fan Laps will go to the SCRAMP Improvement Fund, a
501(c)3
charity established to make improvements to the facility.
Admission to the event is free and fan activities have been scheduled from
4:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., although fans are welcome to come out earlier in the
day to see world champion racers Wayne Rainey and Eddie Lawson testing
their
World Superkarts in preparation for their participation in the
season-opening Road & Track U.S. Sports Car Invitational, April 30 - May 2.
