New registration order

First off I have to apologize for not having the run groups listed on the
worker sheets. Nothing was going right for me last weekend and I just plain
forgot to fill in the run groups.

Secondly, at the next event I will try moving the worker signup sheets in
front of the payment. The only problem I can see is the newbies who don't
know what class they're running in will hold up the line while the newbie
help guy or gal tries to help him out. If things get too backed up I'll
switch back to the old way. As far as I know no one has ever complained
about the lines at registration (that was not an invitation to start
complaining now).

I have an idea. Maybe we should not hand people their registration card
till they have signed up for a worker spot. It may make the registration
line longer but at least we would get the people to sign up to work.
Getting them to work is a different problem.

I double/triple checked on all the signup sheets and if I found
someone
had worked and was checked off, no matter which group s/he ran in, I
counted
it as working. A lot of my time expended. Part of the problem is the
signup
sheets didn't have the working classes listed at the top of each page,
which
could have led to some confusion.
However, the biggest problem was the names of those who did not sign
up
at all, nowhere, nohow! Hey, listen folks, I check for that, too. Yes,
I'm
an old meanie, but someone else is working for you; you need to work for
them. Fair is fair. Some may have the feeling, 'well, with 300 entries,
the
club won't miss me.' Shirkers are not welcome.
