electr(HPV-1) Tech Q???

1st Q: the ADVANCE connection (adv) on the board can be connected to a MAP 
Sensor so i'll
      have instant advance in Full throttle?  yes/no
2nd Q:what happens to the Linear Advance (knobs)...change that?
3rd Q:inexpensive MAP sensors i can use
4th Q:MAP Sensor are just varistors?

i have the old version of the Electromotive Hpv-1...running on Mikuni 
carbs(sidedraught)
