Jeremy; what kind of car is it?  check to see if there is *any* play in the
front wheel bearings.  Grab the top and bottom of each tire while it is off
the ground and wiggle.  If there is any play in a front drive car, it is
probably due for replacement.  Ditto for Camaros.  Another test is to drive
on smooth asphalt and take it in gentle corners, left and right, at moderate
highway speeds.  If you hear a growling sound in one direction, it is
probably the opposite wheel bearing; i.e.: if a left bend produces a growl,
the RF wheel bearing is probably toast.  Just to eliminate the possibility
of tires, switch them from front to rear and vice versa and see if the noise
repeats.  If it doesn't, it's probably the tires.
