At the Steering Committee last night, we voted to change the novice
eligibility rule regarding slush trophies. The new rule is:
You are ineligible [for next year's novice class] if you won a first place
Winter Slush trophy (unless you were the only eligible competitor in the
class).
So, unless you win a class in winter slush, or have attended over 33% of the
events in 2001, you will still be eligible for the 2002 Novice class.
You are eligible for the Novice class if you have not:
* competed in more than 33% of any prior year's events
e.g., for the 2001 series: regular series = 18
* slush series (probably will) equal 7 events;
* for a total of 25 events
* So you would be ineligible if you ran 8 or more events in 2001
