PCA's Golden Gate Region once allowed any type of car as long as it was
being driven by a club member.
        That's when a fellow named Dick Trethaway brought his Lotus 7A (a
Ford 997cc-powered one) to one of their events and blew away the Porsches.
He used his Porsche as a daily driver. 
        That ended that. It's now usually Porsches only at Golden Gate
Region events.
