I have a big problem with trailers behind a
fun to drive car: one can forget it's there.
It doesn't help that the seat has rib-hugging
side bolsters, the steering wheel is nicely
weighted, and the gear shift is short and
crisp. With all that tactile feedback,
you sometimes forget you're driving a
vehicle with the dynamics of a drunken
hippopotamus.
This happened to me. I had a small
motorcycle trailer, and a Honda roadrace
bike. The combined weight is probably
about 500 lbs. The tow vehicle was an
'83 VW GTI. Duh!
