roof racks?

Can anyone make a recommendation for an affordable roof rack that will work
on a car without rain gutters? I checked out Yakima and Thule's websites,
and one of them didn't have a fitment for the MR2, and the other was going
to cost over $250 by the time I bought all the adaptors and what have you.
Seems a bit steep for a rack?
