Check out the new 2003 MAZDASPEED Protege(

retuned MP3 with an intercooled-turbo, limited slip,
and larger Euro-spec brakes. Supposedly it whipped up
on a WRX at Lime Rock during testing. Even with the
extra power it's still able to get 24/30 mpg (as
opposed to 25/31 for the ES). Type-R's watch out,
2000 units are being sold 4th quarter this year.
