It's a good question, Eric. Not like there's a website up that details the
daily personal decisions of SCCA staffers.

For an answer, I'd look to a Steve Johnson quote from a short while back:
"This is an organization and industry that thrives on rumors. If you get
concerned, come to me for honest answers and advice." The man does respond
to e-mails (sjohnson@ssca.org is no secret)

FWIW, I did an interview with him a month ago. One thing that came out of it
(which did not make it into the story) was that SCCA had been sending
staffers on visits to Topeka to see what the town was like. One result seems
to be that a greater number than was expected may be making the move,
because the cost of living/quality of life issues end up being major
positives. (As if [and these are my words, not Steve's] SCCA can't pay you
much more, but we can put you where your dollar goes farther.). Now "greater
number" may be 25% instead of 20%, or it may be 75% instead of 50%. I don't
know, but the development is encouraging to Steve.

Of course, one nice thing about Team.Net is that someone unsure of his facts
can post something that may be out of his left ear, and someone else who may
be more "in the know" responds with more solid information. If we can do
that without flaming the original poster, the result is good info gets
spread farther and all benefit.

But yes, Eric, there will likely be some job opportunities.
