Perhaps everyone missed the point on this one. I was just checking to see
if this is a legal "safety device" in stock. Ever since I installed my 7lb
clutch/flywheel assembly from Tilton I seem to way overrun the motor and float
the valves when I miss a shift. ;> I was just trying to save the money on the
titanium retainers and big springs. ;>

I was thinking the same thing.
Without a tach I would probably have blown the engine by now. I also see
redline at least once a day. A rev to redline in first & second is
necessary for safely merging into fast moving traffic when taking off from
a toll booth, especially in a car with no torque. Could that make the tach
a safety item :-)
