A HUGE thank you to Jean Kinser and all her instructors who were there this
past weekend with me.

I much needed some quality seat time and mental refreshing and this was
exactly what the doctor ordered. To those of you who didn't go for whatever
reason, too bad for you. :^P 80 degrees on Saturday and about 85 on
Sunday. No rain, low humidity, nice breezes, lunch delivered to you each
day. It just doesn't get any better.

With only about 50 Saturday drivers and about half that on Sunday (a lot of
folks went back home for local events) there was virtually unlimited seat
time.

As a matter of fact, you got so many successive runs that you had to just
stop for 15-20 minutes periodically and let your car, tires and self cool
off. I have bruises on both knees from banging the interior panels of my
car. My shoulders hurt from so much time spent fastened into a harness and
I have small blisters on both hands from the steering wheel. I also have
far less rubber than when I arrived at Peru, but just enough for Topeka.

IT WAS WORTH EVERY BIT OF IT!!!!!

Thank you Jean and to anybody who would even dare to think about badmouthing
or questioning her motives, shame on you. She actually lost money on this
event and it came directly out of her own pocket. It'd be worth every penny
at twice the measily cost of $50 for two days if virtually unlimited seat
time.

Now I have to go invest in a garden sprayer to cool down my tires, and
that's NOT a complaint. ;^)

Thank you Jean Kinser, Sam Strano, Pat Salerno (he showed my how to drift a
Neon like a Camaro) and John McIver for helping me out this weekend. Oh
yeah, and Bud Collins too. How cool is it to have your class competitin
give you pointers and help you out. (I've really got him worried now. ;^)
Thank you also to Hoosier Tom for being on site Saturday to help with
mounting many tires of a competitors brand!

To those out there who didn't make it this year, make plans to attend one of
next years Evolution events. I believe that Texas also had a similar event
and Jean plans on having several more around the country next year. It's
exactly what we all need just prior to nationals. Set your car and the
driver up for Topeka's concrete a week early and be 100% as ready as
possible.

Now, what to wear in Topeka. ;^)
