This may not real timely since I am on the digest....

Richard,

It's NOT NECESSARILY BS. As someone who has personally
hosted a National Tour, let me tell you how many people saw the
course map before they got their registration packet.

8. That's right 8. Me, the two other event chairs, and the safety
steward and of course, the course designer and his setup crew
(and they didn't see it till Friday afternoon of the Tour).

And yes, we debated the map on the web in advance thing - we
decided that we didn't want to go there for one main reason --
If one competitor does not have access to the map, it isn't fair.

Please don't accuse people who work very hard at trying to be fair
to everyone of something unless you have a clue of what you are
talking about - and if you do, be more specific.

I had people who were seriously p*ssed that we didn't let region
members see the course map in advance.

That's BS, does anybody think that members of the region that puts on a NT
event don't see the map until the actual event?

How about the big cheeses.

All this does is limit the amount of people who have seen the map.
