What is the most observable non-emergency vehicle on the roads today?
The full size yellow schoolbus. (Well, if it isn't then it's right up
there...)
Here in Orlando they have decided that it could be made more observable
by placing a strobe light on the top of the bus at the rear. This also
ensures that airplanes or helicopters do not attempt to land on it while
it is in use.

I think we can take this safety tip to the next step and require strobes
on all motor vehicles. We could all look like Indycar pace vehicles. And
while we are at it we could all install the delivery truck backup
beepers but leave them on all the time.

However, no matter what we do we are not going to stop the book/magazine
readers, cosmetic appliers, or cell phone users from completely ignoring
the task of driving their car.

I think we need a new campaign similar to DUI. Call it DWS - driving
while stupid...

BTW, I _hate_ DRLs. If you can't see something the size of a car in
broad daylight you should not be driving!
