Hey fellow autoxers,

Today was the first event of the year for the Virginia Motor Sport Club,
and they wisely chose to hold it at Virginia Motorsports Park in
Petersburg, VA - home of the ProSolo in late May.

The weather was beautiful, sunny and slightly breezy with temperatures in
the sixties. The course was healthily sized and pretty fast - 40+
seconds long with no first gear anywhere after the start, and some third
gear for more than a few drivers! (Us non-experts just banged against
the rev-limiter in 2nd and considered that to be plenty.) It was of the
mini-road-course variety (lots of sweepers with no crossover and multiple
cars running simultaneously) and oh boy was it fun!

Nationals drivers mixed it up with regional hotshoes, local speed demons,
and the occasional novice rice-boy in a Honda with way too much
understeer. All ninety-odd participants got three runs in with plenty of
time left over for fun runs. What a great day!

The next public event at this fantastic site is National Auto Sport
Association- Virginia Region's "Big Fast Spring Autocross" on Sunday,
April 18. Expect a longer (and possibly quicker) mini-road-course style
track and just as much fun! Learn more online at http://am.net/nasa
under "Virginia Region Event Schedule".
