talk about a great AX event that's coming up soon!
The Las Vegas Division of the SCCA is going to be sponsoring a SOLO II
Divisional on the weekend of March 6 and 7 at Spring Mountain Motorsports
Park, in beautiful Pahrump Nevada. Registration and Tech Inspection will
be from 3 to 6 pm on Friday, March 5 at SMMP, late tech will be 7 to 9 am
Saturday.
All of you that competed in our Pahrump Mania event last November will
recall that SMMP, home of Bragg-Smith Advanced Driving School, has a huge,
freshly paved asphalt surface, and we had some great racing. We plan to do
it again, bigger and better. Register early, by email to
"ckostelaz@net-nerds.com" or by fax to 775-727-1936. Include driver name,
class, number choices, and phone number. Snail mail to "SCCA, 2160
Heritage Drive, Pahrump, NV, 89048. Cost is $60.00 for both days of
autocrossing if you register in advance, or $70 at the gate. This fee is
rumored to include another "Custom" T shirt like "Pahrump Mania" did. Be
the first on your block.
Rooms are scarce in Pahrump this time of year, so make hotel reservations
NOW, at Saddle West Hotel & Casino (800-433-3987) or the Days Inn
(775-727-5100). They may have rooms available. (Accent on "MAY!" Better
hurry!) Las Vegas isn't that far away, if all else fails. (Like having to
"settle" for Vegas is that tough.) Try calling the "Event Meister" for
aid. Call Rick Kostelaz at 775-727-1936, and he'll do his best. Or email
me, and I'll bug Rick for you. RV camping spaces are available on-site for
the weekend of the event.
