How about a 5.2 or 5.9L Durango? I bought one earlier this year, and have about 8-9K towing miles on it. I tow about a 4K lb open trailer rig without problems. 75-80mph is still comfortable. Interior is bigger than a Grand Cherokee, but outside isn't as huge as a Suburban. Great 4 wheeler, to boot! I believe the 5.9L with the towing pkg has a 10,600 lb towing capacity.
