That's a strange combination of effects, but it could be ashort in the charging circuit. That could potentially cuase a drop in voltage to the guages, and to the ignition, which could be causing the backfire, due to a weak spark. You can eliminate that if you disconnect the alternator, then try a run. Good Luck, Julian. |
