Is this measured or specified by the grinder?

If it is measured, could you please remeasure at .050 valve lift,
its much more indicative of performance as the cam silencing ramps
impact heavily using the lash to lash method.

Yes, too tight increases overlap which _CAN_ hurt low end, but I doubt 
you'll tell with only .014 max change.

Yes advancing the timing tends to give mor elow end torque, at the 
expense of upper band power.
