Just a thought, are you sure that you put the slave cylinder back on in the s=
ame place from where it came out of?

Why I ask is that if it is on the wrong side of the bracket it would shorten=
 your activation throw by almost an inch.  This would then explain the sympt=
oms you have posted.

I have done things like this in the past.
