Hi all! I was thinking of going out to buy a new stereo radio for my car. The stock opening in my dash support plinth measures 1-3/4 x 4-1/2". Most standard radio cases today measure about 2-1/4 x 7-1/4". Is it safe to cut out that much material from the plinth or is some reinforcement needed/recommended?
