Don't let the brake hoses go too long before replacing them. My DPO
let them go until the outer sheath had completely disintegrated, and the
fabric reinforcement was in tatters. Only the inner tubing was intact. I
noticed them one day while under the car working on another problem, and I
about wet myself. One panic stop and BLAM! No more brakes.
        Fortunately, I found the problem a couple of weeks after purchasing
the car, so I had not been driving around very much before I fixed the issue.
I went ahead and replaced the rear hoses too, although they were in much
better shape.
