I had my Pertronix unit on my TR6 fail this evening. I've had it
less than a year. Luckily I had a backup unit in the boot. A quick
switch and all was well. At home I checked the wires going into the
sensor for continuity and both were solid all the way. The only
difference in wiring, was that I had the red lead connected to the fuse
box and the black lead to the negative side of the coil. I did it that
way to hide the extra wire and make it look original. Could this have
effected the longevity of the unit? Thanks for any insights. John
