I guess an obvious question here is how tight do you make the connecting  
bolt.  When I had the canister filter I put a torque wrench on it and it  was 
TIGHT.  Don't recall the setting as it has been a while but it was not  25 ft 
lbs.  It was the only way I could prevent the reenactment of the  Exxon Valdes 
in 
my garage.
