Hi,
Did anyone read the latest Classic Motorsports mag? There's an article in
there where they put several sets of tires on a early 70's vintage Volvo
and then run an autox course and then do a 60 - 0 stop.
The tires made a HUGE difference in the stopping.
By going from a cheap tire (Firestone F560, I think) to a modern "R" tire,
they dropped almost 60 feet from the 60 to 0 distance. That works out to
almost 30% reduction in stopping distance.
