Yes to both. I'm positive about the removing the driveshaft to service 
the U-joints , a little bit of maneuvering & it comes right out. You 
might have to loosen or remove parts of the exhaust depending on your 
set-up.
If remember you should have access to the trany rear seal as well. 
Getting the flange nut off will be the challenge.
