Thanks to everyone who responded so quickly, I did the various tests everyone
recommended,
turned out to be plug wires. I put my old solid wires back in and voila. Thing
is I have these Green
TRF ones, with maybe 2,000 miles on them, but they are the carbon type with
the little pin thing.
They were correct in terms of original color... I'd rather drive it than look
at though.
While I am here can any original owners tell me if there was foam on the
underside of the boot cover
