Calvin,
Unfortunately, only the after-market systems maintain the pipes straight thru 
to exit. If you have a mild steel, or regular original system, then the pipes 
end and go through a series of baffles in the silencer (muffler).
I think I remember seeing this somewhere on the Internet as a diagram, or maybe 
the Buckeye site had this info as well.
