Ray---The early sixes had a CR of 8.6:1. The 1973 model was delivered at
7.75:1 and the 1974 is said to be at 7.50:1. I don't know for sure if
there was a drop between the early model and the '73, but vaguely recall
one year at 8.0:1.

In any case, yours came at 7.75:1 and the head thickness should measure
out at 3.550, as mine once did.
