While not exactly a TR6, I have had the pleasure of spending some time in a
Spitfire with them installed.  Paul Tegler has a very well documented
'how-to' at
http://www.teglerizer.com/triumphstuff/index.html, under the link "Miata
Seats".  The dimensions (and challenges) seem close to what we would
encounter in a '6.
