Butch---You caught me at the right time on this one. After enjoying 27
years on the original Lucas starter, it started balking when hot. TRF
was out of stock on this at the time, so I went with MossM. That was two
years ago. Two weeks ago, the rebuilt one from Moss failed. Of course it
was out of warranty. Again I called TRF, and surprise, surprise, they
had one in stock! I put it in a couple days ago and all is well again.
It sounds good and spins fast, unlike the last one. (Even two years ago)
Admittedly, getting a rebuilt anything is like shooting dice, but at
this time the answer to your question would be to use the ones that TRF
has rebuilt for them. $159 plus shipping, plus refundable core charge
of $45.
