This doesn't surprise me and I hope I didn't imply that it was. Apart
from the different stud diameter, I'm aware there are other variations
on gaskets.

And I believe from what I read that Chris Witor found this later head
with its smaller exhaust valves and improved porting offered better
flow properties when compared to earlier heads with larger valves. As
I've now deleted the original enquiry, I can't really remember the
original query <g>. If its better overall performance without breaking
the bank, this thread has to be 'welcome to the land of compromise'
and I guess a Triumph engine specialist is the best person to talk to.
